SEVI by Sevdalina's attractive head accessories compete with global brands
In recent years, turbans have gained exceptional popularity worldwide and have become a current fashion accessory. They are an integral part of collections and reviews of top designers and brands such as Gucci, Missoni, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Marc Jacobs, etc. The trend in Bulgaria is being imposed by Sevdalina Dyakova, who is our only national turban designer. Her creations are not inferior to world brands in quality, aesthetics and high-level craftsmanship. It is precisely because of their quality and beautiful design that Sevi by Sevdalina turbans have become a favorite accessory of many celebrities, including singer Ishtar. The designer has made turbans for the wives of several sheikhs from different Arab countries, as well as many singers, models, actresses and influencers from Bulgaria and other places. Sevdalina Dyakova first encountered the turban as a fashion accessory during a trip abroad and was impressed by the way it gave an exotic and magnetic look, as well as a perfect finish to an outfit, whether sporty or elegant. Discovering that quality turbans were quite expensive, Sevdalina decided to make a few for herself and received many positive reviews. Inspired by the interest and demand, she decided to create her own brand – Sevi by Sevdalina, which developed her ideas for a modern interpretation of the turban.
"Initially, I had slight doubts and concerns about how ladies would perceive the word "turban", but it turned out that my clients are more informed and even braver than me. In a short time, this fashion accessory became visually captivating and devoid of any political or religious roots, and the approval and enthusiasm of the ladies who actively sought out my turban overcame all my fears," says the designer.
The history of the traditional turban comes from distant Mesopotamia, when it was worn only by royalty and spiritual leaders. Over the years, it has spread to different cultures and religions, serving as an identifier for certain social groups according to its color and shape. The traditional turban is a very long scarf that is soaked in water, then wrapped around the head so that its owner's head can cool down during the hottest part of the day. This type of accessory is present in the looks of iconic names in cinema and show business, including established fashion icons - Greta Garbo, Elizabeth Taylor, Marlene Dietrich, Sophia Loren, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, etc.
The turbans created by Sevdalina Dyakova are in a modern form – a type of hat, ready to wear for the convenience of ladies. In addition to being beautiful, turbans are also very practical. Depending on the material and model, they fit perfectly into any look – sporty, sporty-elegant, beach, everyday, winter, summer, evening, cocktail – from the most everyday to the most official. During hot summer days, they can protect the head from the scorching sun, and in winter – from the cold, rain and snow. They can both preserve the hairstyle and save you a visit to the hairdresser by hiding a bad one.
Sevdalina Dyakova makes her turbans from the highest quality fabrics, which are wrinkle-resistant, soft to the touch, comfortable to wear and extremely beautiful. The fabrics are chosen according to the season, with lighter fabrics used during the summer season – georgette, stretch, thin neoprene, jacquard, cotton fabrics and fabrics with fine sequins, while thicker fabrics are more prevalent during the winter season – wool, cashmere, leather and the so-called bouquets. The designer combines her materials with various accents, such as pearls, Swarovski crystals, brooches, handmade flowers, ribbons, strands, etc. "The design of the models is entirely mine, I am mostly inspired by the selection of materials. When I see a fabric that impresses me, I immediately imagine what a turban made of it will look like and what details it will have. If I can't imagine it, I simply don't buy the garment - it's clearly not the right choice," says Sevdalina Dyakova. She often receives inquiries about individual orders, because every lady has her own vision of how her accessory should look and what outfit she wants to combine it with. The designer does not consider this as additional work, but as an opportunity to get closer to the taste of the ladies, to learn more about their wishes and to exchange ideas and inspiration. Other interesting head accessories from Sevi by Sevdalina are turbans, as well as French berets, which are also very fashionable at the moment. The designer also makes attractive turbans for newborns entirely from 100% organic cotton.
Sevdalina Dyakova's ambition is to create beautiful accessories for the modern woman who is interested in a flawless look, follows trends, likes to experiment with her style and wants to be noticed. This aspiration, as well as the achievements of the young designer, do not go unnoticed. In a short time, Sevi by Sevdalina has become a recognizable brand among women and enjoys great interest. Over the past two years, Sevdalina Dyakova has received several fashion awards. The first is "Miss Lady of the Year 2017", Fashion category. It is important to note that she won this award just 5 months after launching her project. "I was so excited that I spent more than three weeks making a turban with 3,000 Swarovski crystals, which I would wear during the ceremony." After two more awards - "Best Brand of the Year 2017", Accessories category, as well as the "Fashion Brand" lifestyle award in February 2018, the designer was noticed by the Fashion Academy and received an invitation to attend the fashion show and spectacle of the prestigious annual "Golden Needle 2019" awards.
